•When boarding out a floor space is necessary 12mm ply wood or a HARDIBACKER BOARD will be used. It is normal
for the following points to be addressed.
1. Doors will need to be removed and it is highly likely they will need to be re planed to fit afterwards.
2. Under kitchen worktop areas (washing machine etc) will be reduced in height by up to 24mm (ply-12mm, adhesive-4mm, tile-8mm).
3. W.C. and sink pedestals will need to be removed. / re fitted.
•Tiling / cutting around existing fitments ie W.C. / toilet cisterns, sink pedestals, sink basins is time consuming and will increase the quote price. It also creates a situation for problems should replacement of that particular fitment be required. The new fitment is unlikely to be the same shape as the broken / replaced fitment or height issues can be found at the base of the WC or sink pedestal when tiled around. It is also common to find issues tiling up to a cistern lid.
• Certain surfaces cannot be tiled right away without some degree of preparation. Continual progress with the technology of today′s adhesives, grouts and preparation materials does allow most common surfaces to be tiled after such preparation has taken place. Your work will be completed using trade approved products, using trade approved methods and will allow the work of MIDAS TILING SERVICES to be guaranteed for up to 10 year′s dependant upon work type. Applying tiles without taking such precautions and without using approved materials and methods may potentially save you on the price of the job but may well cost you on the quality and durability.
